BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING

Never underestimate the benefits that come along with serving others. Your physical and mental health can even be positively affected by volunteering.

Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, low self-esteem, and even Obsessive Compulsive Disorder have all been helped by volunteering. When people with OCD, PTSD, or anger management issues volunteer, they feel more connected to others. They have an increased sense of purpose. Connection and meaning translate to decreased symptoms and improved social function.

In addition to offsetting negative mental conditions, serving and freely giving your time, energy, and resources to people and causes around the world can create change on a global scale. It is amazing to think that one person’s efforts can change the life of someone else somewhere in the world.

Whether you choose to volunteer within your church or a community organization, make a decision to get involved. It will change the lives of others, as well as your own.

If you aren’t sure where to start, check us out and connect to make a difference in the lives of families whose children are being impacted by terminal illnesses. We appreciate your support!
